Our History
How Ebenezer Higher Institute of Science and Technology came to serve students and families in Bamenda and beyond.
Our foundation
Ebenezer Higher Institute of Science and Technology, based in Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon, was founded at the peak of the Anglophone crisis and war to meet the educational and moral needs of students based on divine instruction.
The crisis led to the shutdown of schools, many dropouts, increased crime, prostitution, and gender-based violence due to economic meltdown. Ebenezer Higher Institute of Science and Technology was the answer to the people's cry: it offered quality professional education with a perfect blend of theory and practical at a very affordable cost, and structured extracurricular programs that help build the morals and character of students.

Born from crisis, guided by purpose
When schools closed and communities faced hardship across the North West, EHIST was established to restore access to education rooted in faith, character, and professional skill.
Affordable, professional training
Programs were designed so families could afford quality higher education without sacrificing rigour—combining classroom learning with hands-on practice.
Building morals and character
Structured extracurricular and spiritual emphasis accompany academics so graduates serve with integrity in workplaces, markets, and businesses.
National recognition & university pathways
EHIST runs various programs authorized by the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training for the National Diploma (ND), as well as supervised programs such as bachelor's and master's degrees with the University of Bamenda, Cameroon.

Vision
The vision of EHIST is to raise a generation of kingdom professionals who are willing to take the same mindset to their job sites, market places and businesses which will reflect in the quality of services rendered.
Mission
In order to achieve the aforementioned vision, the institution has incorporated the following in the training of its students:
- Recruitment of young and highly skilled lecturers who have a mastery of both theory and practical
- Practical oriented lectures to equip the students with the skills required to compete in the job market
- Monthly seminars and workshops on personal development, leadership, public speaking and entrepreneurship
- Structured spiritual emphasis scheduled every week to help build the morals and character of the students
